Powerchair Soccer
Powerchair Soccer
For twenty years now, the Powerchair Football (Powerchair Soccer, Powerfoot, etc.) is practiced in several countries. Although they are all inspired by soccer, the rules are very different from one country to another. In order to harmonize this sport regulations, ten countries met in Atlanta in July 2006. The International Federation of Powerchair Football Association (FIPFA) is born! The Powerchair Soccer, here called Powerchair Soccer, is a fast and very spectacular sport (speed up to 10 km/hour). In addition to its speed, it is the only team sport for people in motorized wheelchairs. This new sport that is now developing around the world aspires to become an official sport registered at the Paralympic Games very soon.
Goal of the Game
The game is played by disabled people who use a bumper attached to their powerchair. Thanks to this bumper, they can direct a ball. A dedicated motorized wheelchair is now manufactured and used only for this sport, but it is very expensive. The objective of the game is to shoot the ball behind the goal line and prevent the opponent from doing the same (like soccer).

$110 per season (for approximately 15 weeks depending on the season)
